Image Quality

The Tech Demo offers several graphical options for you to choose from.

I was curious to see the difference between the three Texture and Shadows settings. Take a look at these comparative screenshots. You would ideally want to view them in full size (image opens in new window) to view the true image quality.

High Texture                   Medium Texture                 Low Texture

The difference in the three texture settings is fairly noticeable. Look at the dude's face mask and right arm in full size and you will see progressive drop in texture richness going from High to Low textures. You definitely lose some of the cloth and metal detail available in high texture. Later on, in this review we will see how the various image presets affect the performance.

Let us look at the shadows settings now.

High Shadows                  Medium Shadows                 No Shadows

High Shadows                  Medium Shadows                 No Shadows

Even though the difference between High and Medium Shadows can be noticeable (look at the cloth), you really aren't missing a whole lot here unless you set the shadows to none.
